There is a particular satisfaction in a small thing that knows what it is. A good pocket notebook. A tool with three excellent buttons. A page that answers one question and then gets out of the way.
Small does not mean effortless. It often asks for harder decisions because there is nowhere for weak ideas to hide.
Constraints create character
A constraint turns taste into action. If a project must load quickly, every dependency has to earn its place. If a sentence must be short, every word has to carry weight.
The best constraints are not punishments; they are editing partners. They keep the work close to its original reason for existing.
Care is visible
People can feel when the edges have been considered. The empty state, the transition, the way a title wraps on a narrow screen—small decisions accumulate into trust.
I want to make fewer things, with more attention. Not perfect things. Just honest, useful ones whose shape reflects what they are for.
